Lester began his career as a picture framer in the late 1980s, eventually transitioning to curating and gallerist work. For 22 years, he owned and operated the Attitude Exact gallery in the Eastern Market neighborhood of Washington, DC, which quickly became known for its unique mix of contemporary and African American art. Lester also founded The B Spot Artbar, which was a popular gathering place for the local creative community.
As an art consultant, Lester has worked with a wide range of clients, including private collectors, corporations, and government agencies.
